Father south the Marple fire is barely seen in this view.

AVHRR channel 3.

This image shows the Marple fire becoming more prominant than it appeared in channel 3 earlier today. Northbound I-5 was closed as described in a Los Angeles Times article.


Nevada

Fire scars are seen in northern Nevada but little if any smoke.

Four Corners area

The fire scar is visible on Mesa Verde. Mesa Verde may be located using the fire scar which is the dark blue spot in southwestern Colorado (Colorado is the upper right state in this image).
