Idaho

Color composite image using channels 1, 2, and 3.

AVHRR Channel 3.

Clouds cover northern Idaho, smoke covers parts of central and southern Idaho. The large fire in central Idaho is northwest of Challis which is labeled on the small channel 3 view along with other surrounding towns. A number of small scattered hot spots are visible in southern Idaho. It is not clear from this image if these are fires.

What appear to be white colored smoke plumes on the color composite image stream from the site of the fire near Atomic City. These show an unusual color and also show up on the channel 3 image which is unusual.
