Wyoming on a July morning (8:42 AM MDT, 1996 July 8). Most of the state is clear in this NOAA-12 3 channel composite image. Snow appears yellow due to it's cold temperature in this color combination and while there is still much left in the high mountains an image one month before shows much more.

A view taken on the morning of 1996 Aug 5 shows some snow still in the higher mountains, mostly in the Wind River Range (109.5W, 43N) and Tetons (110.8W, 43.8N).
