Parallel Doppler (Ndop = 32)

The example of this figure is for Ndop = 32, or summation over the detected and delay-compensated waveforms from all of the Doppler bins. In this case, the SNR and the SSR are significantly larger than for the Ndop = 3 case, but not necessarily ten times better! This is because the benefit of parallel Doppler integration tapers off as Ndop increases. The optimal amount of parallel integration depends on the specific sounder geometry at hand.
