The Ocean Remote Sensing Group is committed to education and involvement of the public in its research.

- Ocean Currents Home Page - Dr. Norma Martof and Dr. Rick Chapman, support provided by the Maryland Space Grant Consortium. A web resource for teachers of Earth Science providing an overview of ocean currents.
- How to Impress a Science Fair Judge - Dr. Rick Chapman. An essay on six simple steps to impress a science fair judge and improve your project.
- StormWatch Experiment - Theresa Brandt, Atholton High School, Columbia, Maryland. This project compares radar imagery and other data spaceborne measurements.
- Variability of the Gulf Stream - Jeremy Monaldo, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt, Maryland. This project seeks to see if the Gulf Stream varies its course during an El-Nino year.
- Variability of the Gulf Stream II - Justin Monaldo, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt, Maryland. This project continues the investigation of the variability of th Gulf Stream with a data set that covers four rather than two years.
- The Gulf Stream - Pamela Phillips, US Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. This project provides an historical introduction to the western boundary current known as the Gulf Stream.
- Science Fair Award 2000 - Ocean Remote Sensing Group science fair award was given to Dana Pinchotti for her project The Moon and Barometric Pressure.
- Weather Phenomena in the Gulf of Alaska - Justin Osborn, Montgomery Blair High School. This project studied three SAR images of weather phenomena in the Gulf of Alaska and related them to previous studies.
- Science Fair Award 2001 - SRO Group science fair award was given to Candice Chan for her project Characteristics of the Radar Bright Band.
- Science Fair Award 2002 - SRO Group science fair award was given to Ariela Haber for her project How Temperature Effects Viscosity.
- Science Fair Award 2005 - SRO Group science fair award was given to Venessa Rivera for her project Gas Fluxes in Farming Systems.
