SAR Ocean Imagery

  • High Resolution Wind Monitoring with Wide Swath SAR: A User Guide by Robert Beal, George Young, Frank Monaldo, Donald Thompson, and Nathaniel (Pete) Winstead, October 31, 2003.
  • Wide-Swath SAR Symposium. Home page of symposium held at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in March 1999.
  • StormWatch / Alaska SAR Demonstration. A first attempt was made to routinely extract wind speed from SAR images in StormWatch off the east coast of the Unites States. This effort was expanded to the Gulf of Alaska as part of the Alaska SAR Demonstration project. This page shows real time SAR wind images and model wind and wave fields.
  • RADARSAT. ERS-1 SAR ocean imagery from Cape Hatteras to Cape Cod, with thematic index and some colocated AVHRR imagery. Time interval: 17 Apr 92 to 25 May 92. SAR data set: 87 frames of dimension 100 km square, with associated AVHRR imagery.
