A Shaded Relief Map of Afghanistan
Tom Rabenhorst of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and Ray Sterner of Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) have created a shaded relief map of Afghanistan. Several sizes and compressions are provided since the full map is very big. The map is available for use according to the conditions given in the map caption. For shaded relief maps of the U.S. see Color Landform Atlas of the United States.
For many other Afghanistan maps see The Perry-Castaņeda Library collection of Afghanistan Maps.

The small map shown on the right is 1/8 of the full map in each dimension. For all sizes but 1/8 two compressions are given. The more compressed version usually looks almost the same as the bigger version. The physical map is useful as a blank basemap.
