Dr. Richard F. Gasparovic
Principal Staff Physicist
Applied Physics Laboratory
Johns Hopkins University

Education

Ph.D. Physics, Rutgers University (1969)
M.S. Physics, University of Pennsylvania (1964)
B.S. Physics (cum laude), Fordham University (1963)

Experience

Dr. Gasparovic is the Supervisor of the Ocean Remote Sensing Group and has served as the project manager for a large number of tasks involving the science and technology of ocean remote sensing. These efforts have included radar imaging of internal wave effects, radar signatures of ship wakes, infrared sea surface temperature measurements, and applications of remote sensing technology to submarine detection. Dr. Gasparovic has participated in the planning and execution of numerous oceanographic experiments involving US and international remote sensing organizations and has been a member of several government review panels and working groups. He serves as a reviewer for professional journals, and lectures on satellite oceanography in the JHU Whiting School of Engineering.
