Curriculum Vitae of Bruce L. Gotwols
Bruce L. Gotwols received a B.S. degree in physics from Drexel University in
1963, and an M.S. in physics and astronomy from the University of Maryland in
1970. He joined the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in
1966. His early work was in solar radio astronomy and studies of the
interplanetary medium using the scintillation of small diameter radio
sources. In 1977 he switched fields and began research in remote sensing of
the ocean using optical and radar techniques. He was PI or co-PI on several
optical and radar instruments, and has participated in many measurement
campaigns using these instruments. He is currently on the Principal
Professional Staff of JHU/APL. His interests are broad, ranging from
designing the instruments, to taking the data and constructing relevant
theories. He has published more than 30 peer reviewed papers in his career.
