Experience:
Dr. Carl Leuschen joined the Ocean Remote Sensing Group of the Johns Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory in 2001.  He graduated from the University of Kansas Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in November of 2001.  He has worked at the University of Kansas, Radar Systems and Remote Sensing Laboratory as a graduate research assistant from 1995 to 2001 and at the as a graduate teaching assistant from 1999 to 2000.  For his Ph.D. research, Dr. Leuschen was awarded a NASA Graduate Student Researcher Fellowship for the simulation and design of a surface-penetrating radar for the subsurface exploration of Mars.  For his master's work, he developed a set of migration algorithms to focus ground-penetrating radar data over subsurface leakage plumes.  He is a member of the IEEE and Tau Beta Pi.
