The following tables contain imagery from those regions of the Gulf of Alaska within the Juneau Forecast area. For all years, SAR-wind images using NOGAPS wind directions are included. Beginning in February, 2002 wind images using MM5 wind directions are included. Imagery contained within the following area is included (bold outlined region). This imagery is being collected as part of an experimental effort to generate composite wind climatologies as a function of synoptic forcing, wind direction and other metrics in the Juneau forecast area. The objective is to develop forecasting tools to assist the marine forecaster in this very challenging forecast region.
