This image shows Liberty Lake reservoir with Pinel Run Park lake at the southwest corner. Every pixel is shown. Rt 26 crosses Liberty Lake near the southern end, and Rt 32 crosses it at the end of the western arm. Liberty Dam may be seen as a white spot at the southernmost part of the lake. The lake appears very dark using these spectral bands, darker than the Chesapeake Bay. This is because the reservoir water is much clearer than the bay water. The lake bottom slopes very gradually at the upstream edges as seen in the north and west arms. The water position at these locations could be used to measure the lake water content if a calibration were done. The lake shoreline is wooded, and the deep red patches around the lake are nearly pure stands of pine trees.
