Ocean Remote Sensing Group Science Fair Award - 2001

On February 14, 2001, Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Prince George's County, Maryland held it's annual science fair. Three members of the Ocean Remote Sensing Group, Frank Monaldo, Rick Chapman, and Donald Thompson participated in the judging. The entire science fair involved hundreds of projects and dozens of judges. Of the projects we were able to visit, the Ocean Remote Sensing Group singled out a particular project that we found the most intriguing and awarded it a certificate of recognition.

This year, were were very happy to give this award to Candice Chan for her project entitled Characteristics of the Radar Bright Band. Ms. Chan was also awarded third place in the Earth and Space Sciences category in the Eleanor Roosevelt Science Fair. She went on to place third in the Prince George's County Science Fair held on April 30-31, 2001. We extend out congratulations to Ms. Chan.
