This research practicum project was conducted in partial fulfillment of requirements to receive a "Science and Technology" citation upon graduation from Eleanor Roosevelt High School.

Research Goal:

The aim of this research project is to use sea-surface temperature data collected from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) which imaged the Atlantic Ocean over a period of two years to track the path of the north wall of the Gulf Stream. These data will be used to determine the variability of the path of the north wall of the Gulf Stream over time. The geographical positions of the Gulf Stream will be used to determine the variability of the path of the north wall of the Gulf Stream for an El Niņo year compared to a normal year.
